I was wanting to submit because I know vintage cards in PSA seem to sell for a whole lot more than BVG. i got this card for a steal of a price the first time it sold it sold for $400 or $500 I can't remember that was over a year or 2 ago. I would love to get a PSA 9 though
Well it has made it through 2 graded services. It was originally a SGC 88 and the seller I bought it from cracked it and sent it in to BGS. So i don't believe it's altered. What would a PSA 9 bring, this card only has a pop 1 of 9 with NQ

I would not crack if it's a pop 1 right now. Look at another front page thread right now involving George Witt 1962 Topps submissions. Low pop commons are tough to make NOT low pop
<< <i>Ok maybe iI will leave it for now, it's just that I've realized PSA for vintage sells much higher. >>
Tell me about it. i have a whole 61 Fleer Basketball set graded by BVG. I would only sell it in dire financial emergencies, but I know I'd be leaving money on the table. I only graded it with BVG because I think it display's better and I like their slabs.
Hey Thanks! Yeah I really like BGS slabs also, they seem to be very tough on vintage grading also, but the value just doesn't really seem to be there like it should be.

Their horrible new website and even worse registry have not helped matters either. It's like they've given up on competitive registries - which in this day and age means there's no reason to grade commons with then, which in turn means our BVG graded commons are worth WAY less than PSA or SGC slabs. if I was super rich I'd probably cross my whole set to PSA, but I'm just keeping it for myself. I have 20% of a 57-58 topps set graded with them too.
Yes I agree I can't stand their new website and I have a heck of a time trying to find the graded card registries. i also agree that PSA is worth more, and usually even sgc. Although when the 1957-58 Topps Sharman BVG 9 came up for sale I bid up to $3,000 and was still outbid. I got this card for only 4235, I though it was a steal especially if I sent it into PSA and got a 9.

Nice looking card!
Surface looks light, but very common for that year.
If you're not wanting to crossover for PSA Registry reasons, I'd leave it as is.
Not sure if PSA would be so generous.
If you're definitely wanting a PSA holder, be sure to crack & sub!
JMHO,
