I'm not sure there is any good way. I took a sheet to a framing shop and they did an excellent job with it.
This was in 1985. I looked at it the other day and the sheet appears to be 'warpped'. Pressing the sheet so tight that it wouldn't warp doesn't sound good either.
I'm not sure if this is the best way or not, but I had a folded letter sheet with a Penny Black framed about 3 or 4 years ago. The framing shop did what they call a "museum mount". I'm not sure exactly how it's attached, but it seems to float above the backing as you can see in the picture. I also had them put UV filtering glazing in it to prevent fading. I've attached some pictures of the framing they did. I have a sheet of Grace Kelly commeratives from 1993 that I'd also like to have framed. Probably will do something similar.

So, I guess my answer is: I don't know.
Is the sheet modern or vintage?
