1876-CC Rare Dime Variety

This just came in the mail today, saw it on eBay and was not sniped at the last second for a change. Can any seated dime experts confirm if this is the type II reverse? If it is, Greer's book says it is a tough variety, and Cherrypickers says it is a URS-7. Is it really that rare of a variety? Unfortunately it has been cleaned, so it might net grade at a VG at best. Thanks in advance for any help and sorry for the huge pictures.

If the left side ribbon end is not split then you have the TII reverse. From the large picture it looks like the TII (the other one shows the wrong side). I've seen several and I'm not looking for them, implies that it's not that rare. Go to heritage and check on it if you like.

Not rare as a var. but decidedly scarce above XF. In the 1995 LSCC survey I only see one unc specimen listed with no AU's.

type II reverses are scarce.

There is a single die pair. They carry a nice premium. There are several UNC's know as well as AU's.

Always a nice find.
