If the PCGS price guide only lists prices for MS60, MS63 and MS65...

is there a way to find a value for a MS64 on their website? I know you can usually get the value on Heritage's site if you can find a coin that sold in their database.

Thanks.

If you have a registry set that includes that series of coin. If you go to edit" do a "What if" and pick the coin and grade, a price will pop up. BUT, some cases a value is not listed.

Try splitting the differnce between the listed grades, if that doesn't work:

I always thought it was a logorithmic function (base10) such that the value was about 1/3 of the way between the grades. I understand the previous formula, but I don't understand how it can be used to calculate the approximate value between two listed grades.

    Please elaborate on the function.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I'm really not sure, but I saw this on episode of Family Guy and they said it could be applied to any situation.

Just sell your 64 to me at the listed value of the 63

DH has promised for some time, that the price guide would be expanded to include published pricing for all grades.

I think they are still working on a format, that will give us( Heritage already has it available) access.

In the meantime, just keep searching.

This actually works quite well, I do it in my head at coin shows all the time
  • If you have a registry set, the values for in between grades can be found by looking at the coin on "Your Inventory".

How 'bout charts of all prices in all grades plotted on a chart, then do a linear regression to find the best fit line?

Then compare the expected prices (ie the price guide price) to the actual prices and see how many standard deviations they're off.

That would be a neat thing to do if someone had the time. I might even give it a shot for 1921 Peace Dollars.
