It doens't matter since the Rays will win in 5.

You guys rememeber what happened to the Tigers in 06 after waiting for NLCS to finally end.

They lost in 5 due to too much time off.

Sorry, Matt, I hate to disagree, but I must. The Tigers lost because the Cardinals got healthy the last week of the season and returned to their 2004 and 2005 form. In other words, the 2006 Cardinals in the PLAYOFFS were basically the same team that won 105 and 100 games the previous 2 years.

Sorry, Matt, I hate to disagree, but I must. The Tigers lost because the Cardinals got healthy the last week of the season and returned to their 2004 and 2005 form. In other words, the 2006 Cardinals in the PLAYOFFS were basically the same team that won 105 and 100 games the previous 2 years. >>



I'm sure that could have played a part in it too Shane but the rust was definitely a factor.

Realistically, the only benefits of "rust" are to let banged-up key players to heal and to set your pitching rotation. Other than that, I think continuing to play and stay sharp is an advantage.

Nine days off sure didn't help last year's red-hot Rockies.

Matt - That's a great point about the Tigers, and just like in gambling if i call a coin heads or tails and it turns up heads, the odds increase of a tails on the next coin toss.


Uh, no it doesn't - the odds of a heads - tails coin toss, is 50/50 each time no matter what preceded it, and the thing with the Tigers has absolutely nothing to do with the Phillies.

I think it was a little of both, the Cards got healthy and the Tigers suffered from the long layoff.
