Kyle Orton has quietly arrived

In spite of a mediocre team he has improved weekly and appears to have arrived on the scene. Along with his emergence is a change in Bear's offensive philosophy, the coaches have finally realized if you have a QB you have to put faith in him. Now sign him long term. image

  • Whatever happened to Rex Grossman? Is he still a backup with the Bears or another team or out of the NFL?

I agree but I think that the reason why he isn't given alot of pub is that it looked like Rex Grossman had arrived as well during their SB run. I think Bears fans are gun shy and want to see him do it for a Loooooooooong run rather than 4 games before declaring their QB woes are over.

He is getting more accurate and making the harder throws. He is reading the defenses better and playing much faster now. Think about how much time they wasted last year with him on the bench.

  • Orton is doing great no question. I also agree with the Grossman comment. Would be nice to see the Bears in the SB.

Bears fans know better than to get excited about a few decent performances at QB.

We all remember Good Rex/Bad Rex.
  • The Vikings pass D always makes a QB look like they have "Arrived"!
    Am I speaking Chinese?

Didn't annoint him as the next great QB and he's played well in several games not just the vikings game. Grossman will likely not be resigned as they have Caleb Hanie on the roster, undrafted free agent who looked like the real deal in preseason and allowed the Bears not to spend money on a retread veteran. Orton has shown the kind of command of the game that's been lacking in Chicago for years. He's not another Rex.

Orton can read defenses and adjust for blitzes. Grossman tried to whip the ball into tight places too much. After Monday nights game, Cutler better start making some adjustments and reading blitzes or he is going to become Grossman part deux.
