Question about Ebay sale for ¼ bullion platinum coin

Why would anyone pay 500 for this ¼ oz. bullion platinum? The coin is worth $215 at current spot and as of Friday, you can buy a proof or Unc. From the mint for $200 less. The seller’s add is misleading in that he is using words like rare and infers the US mint stopped making the coin. Is this a simple case of the seller running a misleading add and looking for people stupid enough to pay this price or am I missing something?

Bullion tends to trade higher than spot, especially on sites such as eBay.

Could also be that he listed it before they came back online at the mint, or missed that they are available again. Looks like 5 people have bought them already probably using the live.com cashback. I searched for PCGS coins friday, and all the plats were overpriced after the mint came back online.

He has sold 5 so far and I don't get it. Hopefully the buyers don't plan on reselling any time soon.

Not a lot of the bullion 1/4's out there, maybe more now that the mint seems to be releasing a few others. 1/2s still a bit scarcer...
