Classic Ebay response from a buyer!

I sold an item for $160 on Ebay. A bidder with 1 feedback won. I Emailed him after some time and asked about how and when he would pay. Here is his response.

I always do that at checkout at the supermarket - they always accept the lower payment and let me have all my groceries...no problemo.

JimQ, How you found that out is beyond me. But I guess he found a better deal. Would have been nice if he did that PRIOR to bidding on my item.

The stupidity of some people is simply amazing. While I want to chuckle with you over this, it has got to be frustrating to deal with such a douche. Hope everything works out for ya.

I sold a card for $125 a few weeks ago and the guy sent me $50 and told me he'd send the other $75 the next week. He actually did send the $75 the next week, but still.

That is rare but I don't see a problem with it... He was upfront about needing an extra week to pay the full amount, and I think if people were always honest like that business on ebay would be a lot easier.

Multiple versions of "auto pay" are in the works.

Before March, we should see a basic one that is "voluntary."
Buyers who sign-up will have their payments debited at the
end of the auction.

By the end of 2009, we may see a mandatory version.

billmelater will be integrated, but buyers will still be able to use
PP-funds and credit-cards and echecks.

I'm all for this. I would love it. I wouldn't have to go through the step of paying. It would be done for me and in the most expedient manner.
