69 Reggie Jackson Opinions Please!

I am currently looking to acquire a PSA 8 Reggie Jackson RC that is well centered. There are a couple auctions, but this one in particular is somewhat interested, aside from the fact that this cards borders look dirty to me. Is this just my eyes playing tricks on me, or does this card look dirty to other members. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I THINK it's the scan. The PSA flip looks darkened too. It's either the scan of the guy is a heavy smoker around his cards

The first image is auction where I am questioning color of the borders. This image is auction for Jackson that Dan Markel has going. I would prefer to purchase the Markel card, but the BIN option on the previous auction is appealing with Microsoft Cash Back. Opinions Please!

The Dan Markel card (his user name is dude on these message boards) is leaps and bounds better than the first card you inquired about. In the first card (not Dan Markel's) the left and right borders appear to be very narrow to me, with the left one even appearing wavy.

I do not like the first card either.

    Good for you.

Nick, Dan Markel actually had a BIN on his card for $699. I missed it, and someone bid on the card. I would have pulled the trigger on the BIN if it was still available. I agree that I like the Markel Card better than the first auction, it owuld be nice though to utilize the Microsoft money, and the other thing I have going against me is, I will be in Vegas next week in a meeting when this auction ends. IT seems the only time I win an auction anymore is if I snipe. I won't have that option on his card.

I think that both cards are relative beauties, but I prefer the Markel card as well. The extra bucks you will spend for the slight upgrade will eventually be forgotten about.

    First one = wouldn't touch....

    Second one = Beautiful

I'd hold off and wait for a nicer example before even thinking about the first one...
  • I agree with everyones sentiments.....2nd one is gold. 1st is maybe copper.

If Dan elected to, Could he put the BIN on this auction back up?

I believe he would have to end the current auction and re list a new one, or if he canceled all the current bids I believe the buy it now would return.

Neither of those options are very good eBay business practices if you are looking for repeat bidders and future sales.

Yea I agree Nick, I have purchased a few cards from Dan in the past, and he is an excellent seller, I wouldn't want him to jeapordize his rating. Oh well, I guess I am going to be S.O.L most likely.
