so...now we have to use a form of electronic payment---pay pal-vs.- visa.
e-bonkers is doing away with mentioning cash, checks and money orders....
because I own and operate a small business ...I can be able to accept visa / master card by tomorrow.
it seems that pay pal offers no protection whatsoever on high dollar purchases.
my question are ...if I offer credit cards as my method of payment ...will I be required to offer pay-pal as well?
is there a distinct advantage of credit cards over pay pay?
can anyone offer a scenario that they would use to avoid charge backs?
any insight is greatly appreciated~ Mike
what method of shipping would you use to insure that the recipient gets his coin and you would have proof to offer visa/master card?

If using the USA mails, some form of insurance is required for more valuable items -- registered mail, insured mail, and private insurance are viable options. Signature confirmation by the intended recipient is also advised.
Despite all that is done, the buyer can always claim that the contents of the package were not what was ordered and stop payment.

From here:
Beginning late October 2008, all items listed on eBay.com must be paid for using one of the following approved payment options:
- Direct credit or debit card payment via a merchant credit card account
- PayPal
- ProPay
- Payment on pick-up

If you have your own credit card processing service, use that. They are much more willing to go to bat for you in case of a chargeback. They will actually listen to the seller's side of the story and allow the seller to submit documentation that
a buyer is trying to rip him off.
