What is up with 89 Score Barry Sanders BGS 9.5/PSA 10 prices?

I came across a few extra bucks and decided to get one of my favorite cards the 1989 Score Barry Sanders RC. I checked completed auctions for PSA 10 and BGS 9.5 and the range was from $89-$155. Even if you take out the $89 as an freak, the range is still $100-$155. That seems a little big for such as established card.
Has the pop for this card exploded? It used to sell in the $150-$200 range pretty regularly.

It use to sell well at $100 in raw NM.
I need to pick up a PSA 10 sometime....he is a hometown boy, plus I am into Heisman and HOF'er RCs. He doesn't really come to Wichita much anymore, but his family is here and I did see him at a McDonalds about a year ago. Nobody seemed to recognize him, but he has not really changed much. There is also a Barry Sanders Park here, which is small and pretty cheesy. But I think Barry bought the lot himself and paid to have it turned into what it is before turning it over to the city, and it is in a poor section of town...so that was cool of him.
Perhaps I will take some Park photos if I can find time to make my way out there and share them.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
One thing is for sure, though...however many boxes of 1989 Score were produced does not compare to the amount of 1989 ProSet that were produced. It's too bad those cards are so worthless because I'd much rather have a rookie card of Barry in action than those awful head shots in 1989 Score. ugh.
<< <i>I always got the feeling that the demand held pretty steady for 89 Score over the years, despite the explosion of PSA 10s. That's an easy decision for dealers - no price change. You would think that the market would correct itself by maybe 2012.

I agree, Pro Set had the better looking rookies w/ the action photos v. the head shots. I still prefer the rookie cards w/ the players in game action rather than the head shots or rookie premier photos.

Speaking of parks....there is no shortage of parks in the neighborhood where I live. There is a very large park about 2-3 blocks away and at the end of my street use to be a school, is now another park. The school moved sort of across the street and beside it is the smallest park I have ever seen. Something I am guessing they did so the local park service would have to maintain it...not sure. Anyway the park is a street beside the school and a spot of grass about 20 ft by 20 ft....which has the park sign on it. It always makes me laugh....maybe we think we are NY.
Will try to swing by Barry Sanders field and take a few snapshots in a day or two.
Edit to add: Just spoke with my dad and he seems to remember it being Barry Sanders Park and that he funded it as well....perhaps this is just local folklore...not sure. I think I will call the park service and see what I can find out...because I am nerd like that.
