<< <i>lovely! how much is the value of one of these ? >>
in auction? whatever someone will spend I think the auction estimate is 200-300 or so, whatever that's worth. Id have to recheck the site. I haven't done due dilligence to check out ha or anyplace else, because I dont anticipate bidding, for the record.

According to the list of prices realized, it sold for $225. LINK
An example of the 1815 S/R variety in Choice Unc brought about $2500 a few years back (Renaissance Auctions, 6 December 2000 ex-Siegfried von Schuckmann). Heritage had a more recent offering, apparently not quite as sharply struck as the von Schuckmann coin (based on the picture). LINK

Ok, now I'm confused
I worked backward from the link to the photo which is http://www.workmansbooks.com/AuctionNo3Photos/698.jpg and understandably made the inference that the coin was offered in Auction #3.
"4 reales, Philip III, assayer R (curved leg). S-P15. KM-9. 13.3 grams. Broad planchet with good full shield and cross, weak assayer, non-toned VF. Estimate: $120 - $180"
If possible, please provide a link to the lot description for the Argentina coin, because I can't find it. Thanks!

I blame the late night and a screaming baby >>
Ok, thanks for the followup. Been there, done that & completely understand.
The Argentina piece looks like a decent VF & should have brought a few hundred bucks. EFs are very scarce and Uncs almost impossible to find.

When I go to Sedwick's site, I find this link for Auction #4
http://www.sedwickcoins.com/treasureauction4_catalog.htm
and the links to the left lead me to lot 698 which is a cob listed under Potosi and described as
