Great Britain 1818 LIX CROWN PISTRUCCI ERROR?

Just today I received this coin, bought from Heritage.

It appears that some letters are missing from “Pistrucci” below the bust. Can this be attributed to a worn die or it is considered an error? Also would PCGS attribute it?
Thanks for your help!

I would think a filled die. Not a major error IMO. I doubt PCGS would recognize it but I don't know that for sure. Fantastic coin though!

I also agree with ajaan. Most likely a filled die, you can still slightly make out a couple of the letters.

    Nice coin. image
  • I cropped it and enlarged the area a bit....... here it is

  • Thanks to everyone for the feedback. Here is the reverse of the coin. Looks as if it could make it to PCGS AU58. Any thoughts?

My gut says... no big deal. But, on the other hand, it is very cool and there are still discovery coins waiting to be discovered.

edited to add: Wonderful coin and I seriously doubt PCGS will attribute this even with a letter from the Queen

I looked through 20 of my Pistrucci coins and found one with missing letters. But then again, my 20 are slightly lower graded than yours. image
