Coins of the British Commonwealth - Zimbabwe.

You will be very pleased to know that I finally got in the Zimbabwean $10 & $25 coins that were struck in 2003 at the Zimbabwean Mint,Bulawayo, but only released into circulation a few weeks ago.

Both coins are smaller than the bimetal $5 coin, but are made entirely from nickel-plated steel.

Unfortunately,I can't post up photos.

If you do have any Zimbabwean coins in your collection, can you please post up some photos?

Aidan.

  • Hans,
I've only got the 10c.,the $2,& the bimetal $5 coins as my only Zimbabwean coins from the 2001 issue so far.

    That's a very nice 2001 50c. coin that you've got there.

  • Gene,
    I've got a well circulated one of the Zimbabwean 2001 $5 coins,which have a nickel-plated steel centre & a brass ring.There is also a 2002 date that has been confirmed,but I haven't got it.

All of the Zimbabwean coins have now disappeared from circulation, due to the hyperinflation, which stands at an official rate of 231,000,000% & climbing!

This includes both the $10 & $25 coins as well.
