Are you guys jersey guys?

No, not New Jersey. I'm talking about fans that wear jerseys to games, in public, etc. I know it sometimes isn't as common for a "grown, older" (older than me image) man to walk around in a jersey as it is for a kid or someone in their low 20s, but I'm curious if you guys own jerseys or wear them out for things other than sporting events. I own a lot of "team" shirts, but prefer jerseys on game day or when I go out to the stadium/arena for some reason.

My closet's stocked with jerseys I've accumulated over the years..... Braves away, Braves BP, Carl Crawford Rays BP in the old green, Dwight Howard Magic, Cadillac Williams, Joe Jurevicius Bucs, and quite a few others......anyone else with me, or are jerseys just not your thing?

I know, it's kind of a lame question but bear with me people!

I have two Emmitt jerseys (home and away), Aikman, Beltran, Piazza and Ventura (all 3 Mets of course).

I don't wear the Piazza and Ventura because I got them auto'd. The other ones I wear.

Yep. The wife and me in Pho last year for the Seahawk game. I use an older Largent jersey as a rally towel (that doesnt fit me anymore), and wear another to games.

  • of course. what else would you wear to games image

The only jerseys I wear is XFL stuff and, even there, mostly just for working out. Thinking about putting "She Hate Me" on them... girls are weird.

  • I tend to go to one Chiefs game a year....although I likely won't this year, and I always wear a jersey. It helps you fit into the sea of red, plus it makes getting autographs at the sides of the entrance ramp easier...only make sure you are wearing the jersey of the team the player you are asking.

4-5 years ago, I went to a Cowboys-Chiefs game with my brother and wore one of his Dallas jerseys. None of the Chiefs would sign for me, although Jerry Jones did stop and signed our tickets....which he did without ever looking at us in the eyes.

Somebody please remind me to stop saying bad things about Joe behind his back.

I am generally not a jersey guy and sold most of game worn ones I had. However, I will break out my Ron Cey replica jersey if I go to a Dodger's game. Oh ya, and I wear my Matt Barnes UCLA practice jersey when I play basketball.

So, that's what someone who can buy and sell small countries looks like. If I had to guess, I'd say that young woman he's accosting is screaming for a policeman.

I just have one - an Urlacher road jersey - that I'll wear to any Bears games that I'm able to attend.

I've got multiple Sox t-shirts and a few jerseys. The problem is if the Rays win the series I lose a bet and have to wear a co-worker's Longoria jersey to work. Oh well.... It ain't over yet!

Nope, I won't welch. I am like another Welcher on this board. While I won't be happy if it happens it could be worse. At least it's not a Yankee jersey!

    VERY true!

I wore my Green (pre-'08) Crawford Batting Practice jersey to school today and had a ton of people talk about the game with me. However, I had other people come up and say "when did you become a Rays fan?" imageimage

Love 'em! I used to be totally into hockey jerseys - I had a silver 'n' black Kings jersey even before the black kids did! - and still have a few along with an early '80s Cardinals throwback jersey, a couple of Rams jerseys and a USC jersey, but now I'm more into soccer jerseys. I suppose it is moderately gay for middle-aged men to wear, say, a jersey of Spain/Arsenal starlet Cesc Fabregas (the object of my man-crush) in public, but I don't care.

Just T-Shirts -- I have a couple each of Schilling and Varitek, and an Arroyo. One of my kids has quite a collection: Nomar, Varitek, Crisp, Ortiz, and Beckett, and now he is pestering me for a Jason Bay shirt.
