I got together with Skyman yesterday for a little coin fun. We had lunch together and did some show and tell. He showed me a few toned Franklins (one of his favorite coins to collect), including a lovely toned 1959 half. I showed him a variety of things, including some darkside coins I have and two medals I picked up as a kid in the 1960's (a medal celebrating the 350th anniversary for the founding of Taos New Mexico [1615-1965] and a medal celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Colorado Cattleman's Association [1867-1967].
We then went to a coin show in Concord, Cal. A small show sponsored by the Diable Numismatic Society. We separated and scoured the bourse, occasionally getting back together to check in. I picked up three early Lincolns to upgrade my Lincoln Dansco [an MS 1917 and 1911, and a either an AU (possible slight rub) or MS 1925], and picked up three proof sets containing a cameo 1958 nickel (moderate obverse frost and heavy reverse frost), a DCAM 1961 quarter and a DCAM 1964 half (one of the three best I have ever found).
All in all a very good coin day.
