I think that this is the first sign another team has you off your game. the dodgers might start worrying more about what the phillies are doing, than what the dodgers are doing.
hopefully MOYER gets the corner strike calls and we take tonights game....

<< <i>I've never been a fan Bill Plaschke from the LA Times. Seems to me he was going for a stretch in this article. Yes the Dodgers pitcher Chad Billingsley didn't throw inside and got beat bad. It just happened to be a bad day for him against one of the best teams in baseball right now. I don't know about beanings, but throwing inside and pushing back hitters is part of the game. Some of the best pitchers in baseball history were very good at it and it does make their pitches more effective. Today could be a long game as the Dodgers starting pitcher has gets himself in trouble just about every other inning.

all good pitchers use the whole plate. watch how well moyer uses his 81 mph fastball on the inside part of the plate.
he gets tons of jam jobs just setting people up, moving the ball around inside the zone
I think you read the article with fan blinders on.
<< <i> I didn't see one word where he said to hit anyone. Just to pitch inside and make the Phillies uncomfortable standing in close to the plate. That is something that has been around for over 100 years. He is just pointing out that the Dodgers might be too laid back and someone needs to reestablish a sense of urgency.

I agree with you and I do think the Dodgers should have realized they really needed to win game 2. Now they are in a situation that will probably lead to a game 7 and that's if they extend it there.
<< <i>Again did you actually read his article or just this post's title? >>
Oh you mean the clever way the sportswriter phrased everything, which of course implied hitting a Phillies batter if necessary, and if a pitcher aims for a batter eventually a batter is gonna get beaned whether aiming for his head or not. Next time learn to "read between the lines" before commenting.

Very true. I've read his articles for many many years and he's always been one of the writers that does exactly what you said and that's how I always read his articles, reading between the lines.

Frankly, it amazed me that the Dodgers seemed to listen to this jackass, and be influenced by him, unless it was Torre who first gave him the basic idea for the story, and the Dodgers were going to do this anyway.....in any event, the Phillies are winning this series anyway.
I think he was actually saying that Chase Utley is Hitler reincarnated and he should be beaned for the greater good of the free world and if we also hit Ryan Howard you can get your mortgage debt forgiven. He never actually says any of that but if you read between the lines he does.
