He probably has that John Denver song going in his head right now........ Take me home country roads
"I have a feeling I should have been home yesterday, West Virginia mountain mama")
In other Big Ten Action, Minnesota beat Illinois. I really don't think anyone saw that one coming either
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
Michigan
Woody Hayes
them to be this bad.
Sincerely,
Blindsided once again
<< <i>I figured that this wouldn't be a great season for Michigan with a new coach and learning a new offensive scheme but I never expected
them to be this bad. >>
Michigan is bad and even worse than I expected, but it shouldn't be a big surprise to anyone. New coach. New system. Add that to a team that lost their all-time leading passer & rusher, two of their better WR's, the first round NFL selection in Long along with the rest of the O-line, and their top 3-4 tacklers from last year and a less-than-average average recruiting class for them ... What did anybody really expect? Rich is going to need another couple of years before this team is able to be judged accurately. He's done pretty well recruiting this year. Time will tell. The big ten in general seems horrible this year. Penn St has been impressive, but the rest haven't really showed much. OSU and Wisconsin were supposed to be studs this year. Ummm, not so much. I give RR a pass for this season, but they better at least show signs next year as the offense has been disgusting.
<< <i>Kick them while there down, heck it's once in a lifetime opportunity. They'll be back and stronger than ever in the near future. >>
Down? They have 36 4 and 5 star kids on that squad and can't beat one of the MAC's worst teams. Something ain't right. You do realize that last week Ball State creamed Toldeo 31-0, don't you? This loss is worse for them than Appalachian State. If its having the wrong kids for the system, which is what Michigan fans maintain, then DickRod should have been smart enough to adjust. Team sports 101, you run a system designed to take advantage of what ya got, not what you want. Admit it DickRod is in over his head.
with the talent on that team their benchwarmers should be able to beat Toledo handily no matter the system.

If your intent is to run system A, you can't just run B because you don't have the players for A yet. Even if they get some players to run the spread next year, many of the guys starting this year will likely still be starting. You can't wait to break in the new system then. That's not only silly, it's absurd. Sure, Michigan does have some good recruits on their team, but most have NEVER played a down until this year. Six of the 11 starters on offense have never started a game until this year. None of them have any significant playing time at all during their careers. They should suck and they do. Should they have beat Toledo? One would think so, but it didn't happen and who cares? Sure it's a bad loss. But with all of the factors involved here, Michigan shouldn't have won a game yet but still has. They'll likely miss a bowl game for the first time in a coons age this year, but will still probably win more than ND's 3 games last year. They'll improve. Guaranteed. Next year they'll compete in every game. In 2 years, they'll be back in the top 10. No doubts here. But yes, they suck. And the funny thing is, it's okay cause they still have more wins than the fuggin' Lions
