Power-Seller on Ebay for a few months... is it worth it?

Because of my selling blitz on Ebay this past summer, I apparently became qualified to become a power seller and have an invite in my Ebay messages to become one. There's no way in heck that I'll keep up the volume of sales, so my question is, is it worth it to go a head and sign up for the program now and eventually loose the status once my listings slow down? Could it hurt?

if you can get the 5 to 20% off your bill it is,storm can tell ya, im no good at links to ebay rules
it saves me 100$ or so every bill and ebay store referal credit takes off some too
  • I don't think it could hurt. Just don't mention it in store listings in case you lose the selling level.

Digi, definately worth it. Depending on your DSR scores you could get a discount of up to 20% on your ebay listings. Plus:

Boost your holiday selling with free shipping

PowerSellers: You'll get double your PowerSeller Final Value Fee discounts on items with free shipping sold from October 1 through December 31.
All sellers: Get a free subtitle and extra exposure in search results for all your listings with free shipping.

Double discounts are hard to pass up! You may find it easy to maintain the $1000 month sales level, and they also base in on a year. If you don't reach the $1K a month for the last 3 months then they go back over a year's time to see if you reach $12K over that time frame. $1K a month isn't too hard, you can buy and resell a few $300 items a month and meet the criteria. If you make a little $$ in the meantime, even better. You can see these stats on the seller dashbord and monitor them for compliance.

It is definitely worth trying for the discounts; especially if you use "FREE" shipping.

If you don't want to display the PS-logo, you can disable it in your preferences.

When you sign-up, you can also read the PSer forum, which sometimes has good info.

    .......

    It's worth signing up.

It can't hurt in any way, shape or form to be a Powerseller as far as ebay costs are concerned - There are no ebay "penalties" for being a Powerseller, and then getting delisted as a Powerseller because the volume wasn't good enough. There are benefits which can be read about on the ebay website, some of which as mentioned are reductions in final value fees,

image .... We are Gold Power Sellers and our October sales-to-date have already passed last year's October sales by $3,000.

We attribute the increase to Free Shipping, and better/increased exposure of our items.

Nice to see the economy is in such bad shape ... Yeah, right! People are spending like it's 1999!

A close friend of mine, says "physchologically, whenever people see the word 'free', it intensifies their urge to buy,
and alters their reasoning, through a subconscious suggestive affirmative message".

I'd argue with him, but he is a Physchologist, and it does make sense.

As others have said ... It's worth it to be a Power Seller!

    Good luck,
