Has been resolved.

Checked my bank account yesterday to find a huge charge from Heritage! They had my bank check card on file, so when I CALLED them they would charge it. Without any call, they charged my card $3600 for a coin I won! I called them immediatly to explain this item was to be placed on the 6 month plan, and I was told they would refund it asap. Guess what? They didnt even begin the process yet!

Every time I have called Heritage and asked for an automatic payment, they said "We dont do automatic payments". But they sure as heck did it this time! And to charge an amount like that without a phone call or an email, isnt that very odd?

Has this happened to anyone else here? Getting very tired of them.....

Rant over.

If this happened yesterday, I would wait until Monday or Tuesday to see if a credit appears. I am sure it will be sorted out. If it does not come by Tuesday, I would give them another call.

    What did you buy?

Also call the vredit card company and dispute the charge. By doing so you will not have to pay until the dispute is removed. It takes 30 days.

Give it a couple of days and it'll be allright. They might have done it already and it just isn't showing yet.
The way to prevent it is to not link you credit card to other people.
Agreed that Heritage is confoosed at times. I hate getting their threatening payment reminders even after I paid, like I was a deadbeat or something.

Bought a large cent. Unfortunately used my check card, so the dough was automatically taken from my bank account. When I spoke to them yesterday in the morning, they said they would reverse it. As of today, they havent even started the reversal process. Called the bank and they told me that they need a reference number from heritage to cancel the payment. So either way, I cant do anything until Monday or Tuesday.

I agree, credit card transactions take a few days to show up on your account. Somethings fishy and I rarely take sides on these issues.
  • Why would anyone use a credit card instead of a debit card for these sort of purchases?

This is a serious question not any criticism meant

I used a debit/bank check card for this. So it comes right out of the bank. I dont want to mess around with a credit card on a purchase like this.

Some credit cards (e.g. Chase) rebate 1% of the charge back to you. Heritage accepts credit cards up to $10,000, so that is $100 cash rebate.

The only reason I put it on the 6 month plan is because I need the cash free for medical bills/procedures.
