2008 Topps Football Factory Set w/ Gold Refractors bonus?

I was at WalMart yesterday and saw a 2008 Topps Football Factory set that had a Chrome Gold Refractor as a set topper. The bonus card was visible through the top of the set box, in this case a Favre Gold Refractor. It says that the card is aset exclusive.

Is this new for Topps? I haven't seen factory sets packed like this before. I couldn't find anything on it on Google or Topps.com.

  • They did the same for baseball. The Mantle gold refractors are selling on eBay for more than what the set cost. I have no idea why.

Does these sets sell for more than the base factory set?

Some of the factory baseball sets have a 5 card Dick Perez set that includes Frank Thomas...hoping singles will show up busted up on eBay soon. I don't like to buy factory sets to pull cards.

I don't think there is such thing as a base factory set anymore....that is unless someone removed the bonus which is usually/sometimes wrapped separate. More so, different places will sell different factory sets with different bonuses.

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
  • I made alot of money on those Mantles I would buy the set list the Mantle by itself and sell the set by itself and would easily double my money. The Mantles have come down, but still command decent prices.
