Anyone seen one of these before - Mexico error date "1897" 50 centavos

I found this little beauty in a small lot of foreign junk....tried looking around on the intarweb and in krause and couldn't find any info on it. Based on the level of circulation it passed thru a lot of hands before it someone though enough of it to keep it.

No it isn't rare.............. I used to have several hundred of them, I referred to them as junk. Don't mean to burst your bubble, But, it isn't really worth squat...................... JMHO, ozzysdad47

rec78 - what edition of the krause do you have that the error is listed in it? I have the 2007 and it has no mention of the error, only lists the regular version.
