Always took candy from strangers Didn't wanna get me no trade Never want to be like papa Working for the boss every night and day --"Happy", by the Rolling Stones (1972)
I was there today (Friday). I sure hope it wasn't larger than Baystate. It was "fine", but I'm not sure it was even larger than Ernie's other show, the monthly Westford show -- different shaped room, so it's hard to compare from memory. I saw mostly the same faces I see all the time, while the Baystate show attracts folks I don't see the rest of the year.
I bought three minor items. On the plus side, I sold a LOT more than I expected to. Nothing wrong with selling. Still, the idea is to buy stuff that I like, and that's hard when I've seen the same inventories from the same people...
I really wish that Coinfest and Baystate were a few months apart. I went to Coinfest last year (sort of by accident -- long story) and it was great. Baystate is my local show, though, and I "can't" miss that one, and I can't deal with two shows on successive weekends. More power to the folks who do this for a living; I'm not one of them.

as expected, any better date half eagles were not available.
silver prices, junk and bars, were priced like silver was still 13 an ounce.
most everything i saw the prices were not attractive even for an
impulse buy.
95% of the coins for sale were yawn material.
i saw very few toned coins.
i saw tons of slabbed material and some green jelly beans.
by sat at 4pm things were really slowing down and dealers were
getting ready to go even though the show was open until 7pm.
in other words... a coin show. i like auctions better. major ones with
"real rare coins".
