I have been looking a long time for one of these. What would you grade it?

I like it. As for the grade, that is a tough call. It looks like VF 25 with a shot at 30 depending on the surfaces

VF20 obverse, VF25 reverse. Probably original, which is very unusual.

If it grades at PCGS, perhaps a VF-25. Is the rim damaged at 10:00 on reverse? Looks like two hits there.

You guys are generous...I was thinking Fine 12 or F-15, but I'd have to examine the reverse around the tail to make sure it's not scraped.

Tough, tough date, and looks nice. Unless it's an artifact of the image, I'm seeing some green on this one. You might want to take care of that before it goes to PCGS. Of course I see it on slabbed coins all the time. I think I like it at 20.

Hair, neck, one breast and drapery. That's what I see on my monitor anyway. Part of it may be just the toning, but some I don't think so from what I see.

I know zilch about the series, but my gut call was 20-25. Nicely original.

I like it as a 20, but am unsure if it will cross to PCGS at that ...might make a 15 though!

This is the more common 1804 B-1 R-3...This coin has a lot of meat on it and looks to be problem free. The 1804's are many times rarer to aquire than the 1796 in all grades even though their mintages are very cose to the same amounts (1796 - 6,146 & 1804 - 6,738).

The prices for the 1804 has been moving steadily upward for the last 5+ years and will cost you North of $10K even for one in this grade.

    Nice Quarter! image
