This is theft by deception, plain and simple. If a seller has so much "handling" overhead, it should be plainly presented to the buyer before the sale closes. You have a couple of choices to achieve some level of satisfaction ... out the seller here, feedback comments if an online auction, and/or never doing business with them again. I've felt your pain.

I like stating "Flat Shipping" costs.

At least High or low, the buyer knows what they are in for if they make the purchase.

The cost of SHIPPING is more than just postage stamps or Fedex charges.

You've got PACKAGING, LABELING, RECORD KEEPING, AND TIME involved. Is your time worth anything? How long will you work for $4 ?

Thats what the DSR's are for though.

Personally, I do not mind paying $8.00 for shipping, heck I do it with Teletrade all the time, but I do expect $8.00 worth of shipping!

Don't forget the fuel costs to drive back and forth to the post office; why didn't you confirm shipping costs up front?
