Hi folks-
Last night was the opening of the ANA's new exhibit on the Civil War* titled A House Divided: The Money of the Civil War. It's another great exhibit put together by Doug, Robin, and Tiffanie. If you only knew how much time and effort the entire ANA staff puts into these exhibits you would be stunned by the quality and depth given the limited resources of the Association.
The exhibit is well worth the time if you are in the area. Congratulations to the ANA for another excellent exhibit!

*Or the War Between the States or the War of Northern Aggression...depending on how deep in the South you live! (Yeah, I spent three years in Georgia...definitely a different perspective on the war!)

Let me preface my answer by stating that I have no "inside information" but from what I have heard in the recent past, the exhibit will be on display at the ANA for a long time (perhaps up to two years or more) as there seems to be a change in the philosophy with exhibits. Namely, the ANA will not rotate exhibits on the schedule they have used in the past but will rather leave them up for a longer period of time.
Some of the marquee exhibits have traveled (e.g. The World of Money) and have done well. A challenge with traveling exhibits is that some folks who loan materials for the original exhibit are somewhat reluctant to extend the loan for a longer period so their items can travel. This will be compounded if the exhibits stay on display at the ANA for a long time before they travel.
On the bright side, the ANA does have a nice selection of smaller traveling exhibits (usually two or three flat cases) that can be borrowed by clubs or other organizations for a modest fee to help cover administrative costs (a REAL bargain). I do believe, if my memory serves me right, that they have a very nice "club traveling exhibit" on the Civil War.

Please go and check it out!
It was a lot of fun to do; I am the card-player on the left and Rod Gillis is on the right.
We met in a large park in Colorado Springs with a Boy Scout troop that does Civil War reenactments.
Please check-out the exhibit at money.org and I will be able to post images this-coming week.
BTW; The ANA BOD meeting is this week as-well.
On the traveling exhibit inquiry;
This exhibit is slated to be up until November 2009, there are no plans to make it a traveling exhibit.
We have four small traveling exhibits out rite now and the large Viva Exhibit will be going out next-week.
