January 23, 1994. That was the date I learned that in sports, nothing has to happen. As a 49ers fan and a Joe Montana fan, I was excited as can be. The Chiefs were playing the Bills in the AFL Championship and the 49ers were playing the Cowboys in the NFL Championship. I, like many in the media, thought about how cool it would be if Steve Young faced Joe Montana in Super Bowl XXVIII. But at a minimum, I figured at least one team HAD to make the Super Bowl. Well both the Chiefs and the 49ers lost and I skipped watching the Super Bowl.
Fast forward now to the NLCS and the ALCS. I want the Dodgers and Rays to make the World Series. Both would be cool, but I'll settle for one. But referencing January 23, 1994, I might as well accept the fact that it's going to be a Phillies versus Red Sox World Series.

Being a Sox fan I DO NOT want to face the Dodgers if we make it to the World Series, I have this awful thought of Manny going off and getting World Series MVP or something horrifying like that

Come on Perkdog, that series would be fantastic!
<< <i> Dodgers in the World Series?? They'd have to beat the Phillies now 4 out of 6 games....the Dodgers simply aren't good enough to do that, and it's not even close. Phillies are a lock to represent the NL in the World Series so bring on the AL team, whoever it is - We're ready for ya! >>
Steve, So that was your #1 pitcher last night right? Well he threw damm good last night and you guys won, what.... 3 to 2 at home. Come on Steve, this series is close match up with the 2 teams that were the hottest down the stretch. The next Dodger starters are just as good as Lowe or better where your next couple of pitchers are a drop down from your #1 starter. Either way, I think we are in for a great series.

<< <i> I just heard on ESPN that the Dodgers are moving back to Brooklyn. >>
Well, the Girl Scouts called, they want your uniforms back. lol
Seriously, the Dodgers are spending some big bucks on more stadium improvements.
