What announcers do you despise? Why?

I absolutely can't stand listening to Tim McCarver! He talks as if his opinion is fact and can't let anything go. He's very negative in the box and will still be talking in the 8th inning about something that happened in the 4th inning. When I can, I put on the radio and will even listen with a 5 second delay to avoid listening to McCarver. He drives me nuts!!! Sad part is he's always hired by Fox to announce/analyze the playoffs so I'm kinda stuck this time of year.

Remember when Deion Sanders soaked him with ice water back in 1992?
It looks like Deion was right about him all along

What did you think about the TBS crew doing the Dodgers / Cubs series? They sounded like they were in training.

I swear, Tony Gwynn sounds like Minnie Mouse with a mouth full of helium

2) Tim McCarver
3) Tim McCarver
4) Tim McCarver
5) Joe Buck
so, you can probably ascertain these two things about me -
1) I am a regular visitor to SHUT UP TIM MCCARVER
2) I was VERY excited to see that the ALCS was on TBS this year and not Fox
Reasons
1) McCarver is a complete idiot and hasn't said anything intelligent that adds to the game in about 26 years
2) Buck is completely unexcitable. He's a fair play by play guy but I would never want him there for a big moment. I hated his call of the 04 Red Sox championship. I hate that people think he's actually good. Give me Gus Johnson or Dick Enberg any day. Heck, I even like Dick Stockton.

Wow, didn't know this existed, pretty much says it all!! But then again, the slogan on this site says the "shutuptimmccarver.com" site comes up 2nd to mccarvers own site. Just how full of yourself do you have to be (especially as an anouncer) to have your own friggin website? What a piece of work he is!
McCarver is just plain awful.
I dislike Morgan (if you listen to him talk you would think he was the greatest player that ever played the game).
In Football....
Kornheiser (makes a fool of himself week after week with the same commentary that got a commedian {Dennis
Miller} canned)

When Scully was doing the post season, it took on more of the feeling of an event. I don't know what MLB was thinking the last(almost 20 years??) with the garbage they put on for their post season calls...mainly McCarver.
Part of baseball's lore has been the announcers, almost as much as the players. It does make it more fun to watch/listen when there is actually a legend doing the game. For all these years there has been a legend available in Scully, yet MLB did their best to put boring morons on the air.

You know, "There is only one November. One chance. One time....et al."
I kinda like that guy. He could make opening a bag of microwave popcorn sound exciting.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

What happened to Al Leiter? He was awesome a few years ago on FOX, but I never see him anymore...
My two most hated....
Joe Morgan-over states the obvious over and over and over again. He sounds like an idiot in the booth. I even have to turn the sound down on the TV on games he announces he is so annoying. I know he's a really nice fella though. Excellent with the public from what I have seen.
Michael Kay- For those of you who listen to the Yankees games, this guy is the bottom of the barrell for sports announcers. Just an idiot when it comes to baseball and loves to critisize everyone. The best moments are when Paul O'Neill and Al Leiter really let him have it and make him look super stupid!
Skip IMO just didn't connect with his listening audience, just too bland and very condescending. When he had his radio show talking about the Braves, he would slam callers and just alienate them. If the caller would ask a question he didn't like, or might have been asked on another show, he would just eat the caller alive and trash him. The guy was just terrible, his voice was just too boring for me.
Hard to top Curt Gowdy, the Red Sox announcer back in the 50s and 60s.
