Jay Cutler's arm better than John Elway's?

If you ask him, he thinks so. Nothing wrong with a guy having confidence but imo, he should have showed ALOT more respect. After all, what exactly has Jay Cutler done?

He has had a nice beginning to his season but come on.

Say what you will about Denver quarterback Jay Cutler, but the guy doesn't lack confidence. In the latest issue of Sporting News magazine, which hits newsstands today, Cutler boasts that his throwing arm is "hands down" stronger than John Elway's.

In fact, Cutler told the magazine, his arm is in a league of its own.

"Brett Favre's got a cannon," he said. "But on game days, there's nobody in the league who's going to throw it harder than I am at all."

Of course, success in the NFL is measured on the scoreboard and not by a Jugs gun, but Cutler's not doing so bad there, either. The Broncos are 4-1 with a two-game lead over San Diego in the AFC West, and their offense is ranked second in the league.

It's also worth noting that Elway, too, raves about Cutler's arm -- but doesn't concede Cutler's cannon is better than his ever was.

"Joe Montana, Steve Young, Brett Favre -- they all could get outside and make big plays," he told the magazine. "Cutler is either more athletic or has better arm strength than each of them. His arm is pretty special, might even be as good as mine when I was his age. Certainly, it's better than mine was at the end."

Cutler is definitely in the minority in thinking his arm is better than Elway's, and he should definitely show some respect.

Lets be honest... his arm probably is stronger.

The fastest throwing pitcher today in MLB throws harder I would suspect than the fastest 20 years ago. And not even sure Elway had the strongest arm in the NFL, but Cutler I think certainly does.

Not true. No one in baseball throws the ball harder than Nolan Ryan did.

I'm not arguing if Cutler's arm is / was better than Elway's. That would be silly.

My point is ,he should have showed some respect for a hof ,superbowl qb.

Leave the praise and comparisons to the games greats up to others. Dont' heap it upon yourself.

Matt I couldnt agree more, I think Cutler is a punk. Yea he is off to a great start but he might want to win a Super Bowl maybe before putting himself in HOF status.

What I remember about Elway is that whenever it seemed like the Chiefs were going to drop him for a sack, he would slip away and either run for 40 yards or fire a bullet to an open receiver for 40 yards. I hated how he always did that.

What I remember about Cutler so far is, well not much of anything. The Chiefs are horrible but they managed to beat the Broncos already this year. Cutler is pretty forgetable.

Stupid thing to say especially when you play for the same franchise.

I still hate Phillip Rivers and Jack Del Rio more though.

Cutler has never won anything. He should just shut his yappper and play football and try to win as many games as he can.
