I wanted to know specifically more about US Heraldic medals which were made when the Mint decided to no loger make commemoratives and these folks filled the void. At least, thats been my understanding of their immediate purpose.

Anyone else??

Just ran across this. Apparently it is still up and running (linkified above). It has scans of the book "Heraldic Art Medals" by William Swoger.
