New Sports Card Radio Show

Hi Everyone,
I live in the Buffalo area and there is new radio show dedicated primarily to sports card collecting that started about 4 weeks ago. It is called "The Hobby" and it is hosted by Mike Schopp an avid collector and sports radio talk show host. Each week he has guests from Beckett or local card shops in the area such as Dave and Adams. Last week Dmitri Young was on the talking about his awesome graded baseball rookie collection. Next week Joe Orlando is scheduled to be on the show.
Attached is a link to the WGR550 website where you can listen to past shows in their audio vault.

He had a card collection on display at the National. Maybe someone took some pics?
A lot of Young's cards have been purchased on eBay so you can always check out the images on VCP if you have a subscription. His buyer's eBay name is cbailey758.

Thanks again. As Post25 stated, the show is on Saturday's at 8:00 AM. They usually put the show on the internet by Saturday evening. Also, you can listen online.
As a sports-talk host, I have found it disappointing how collecting seems to have so little credibility in mainstream sports culture. Far too little, in my opinion. As I've mentioned on the show, many of my friends who are avid sports fans still think baseball cards go in bike spokes. I think this should change, and this new show is my way of helping that to happen. It's my contribution to the hobby, as it were. It's also a high priority for me to use "The Hobby" as a way to help keep collecting honest. It needs to be honest.
My dream is for "The Hobby" to achieve national credibility. I have strived to keep it from sounding like a local show. These days, there seems to be no point in "thinking local"; the Internet makes the entire world available to you. With that, segments of and interviews from "The Hobby" are available free to anyone for downloads anytime at wgr550.com.
Please send me an email at thehobby@wgr550.com if you have ideas, advice, criticism, whatever. I'm eager for feedback.

If you hang around this joint for just a little while, you'll find potential interviewees coming out of the woodwork. Pre-war to modern madness, there are true "super collectors" here.
I'd recommend a show on "Through the Mail" autographs.

I am sure I'm not the only one who'd like to hear him speak about the hobby and life experience in general.
May I also suggest your producers have the 'dump' button ready to fire if Randy is on air.
Seriously though...what a great interview that would be.

Thanks to all those who have listened so far.
I just heard about the radio show and love it so far. I agree with another person who was enthusiastic about drumming up support for the show. I am going to let my collecting buddies know about it as well as people that I trade to deal with.
<< <i>Thanks for the cool link. I heard that Rube might be on their next show. Any truth to that rumor?
