I am irritated when they are cut. It makes me think that the guy who put it in there is a sissy.
Collector of 1976 Topps baseball for some stupid reason.
Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason.

No cutting required.
I use a pen to stretch one side. The card goes right in without snagging and the sleeve goes back to normal.

I buy the wider penny sleeves for thicker cards. No issues here.

I guess another question would be as you are facing the sleeve do you cut it on the left or the right side or other?
I usually cut on the left.

I did that once by accident Craig. I penny sleeve all my cards first and then topload them.
I freaked out when the sleeve wouldn't fit in the toploader
I had to take them all back out and put them in "regular" penny sleeves

You could just slice off a small strip of the card to make it smaller. Then it will easily slide right into the sleeve without damaging a corner.

I topload whatever I don't send to PSA. For those, I go bareback on the regular penny sleeves. Cutting corners is for wimps.
