Awesome Player Collector Find...You know who...Big Pictures

So, story has it that 1993 Leaf promo items (standard sized card of Big Frank and this previously unknown to me item) were handed out at a large convention in Chicago...a Franklin associate was attending and took the promos to the powers-that-be at the Big Franklin in the Sky. Franklin confronts Donruss/Leaf claiming trademark infringement and the need of royalties for their logo being clearly displayed on both Frank's batting glove and wristband. Needless to say, Leaf pulls the promos and the resulting regular issue card is airbrushed to hide any logos.

As stated before...I had no clue this existed...an 8x11ish, two-page (front and back) fold out promo.

Modern junk to most of you, but a heck of a find for a player collector.

  • That's interesting. Did they use a different photo for his card or air brush the logo off ?

    Nice find.

Image taken from eBay...this is the card that made it into the set...all basically the same, except the lack of Franklin logos and the back image on the card is cropped slightly tighter.
