Nice coin. That's an old school NGC holder. I believe those holders have a following. Cameron would know. I think that's what I've heard referred to as a "no-line fattie".

Geez, two sentences about the plastic and only two words about the coin. I've been hanging around the Litesiders too much lately. image

PS- thank you, too, for putting Mr. D in my head. I need to talk to him about a killer 1955 "Bugs Bunny" Franklin half I have, which I know for sure I will NEVER be able to photograph properly.

Yes generally I try to stick with PCGS but I do like the NGC fatties, too. I know there's a green lettered fattie that is older than this version, and of course the all white label fatties that are even older.

  • Wow! That is one very nice Saxon commemorative 2 Mark coin that you've got there.I once had an example of the Prussian 1901 Kingdom Bicentenary commemorative 2 Mark coin in my collection.I ended up offloading it back in late 2006 when I decided to sell off my non-British Commonwealth banknotes & coins.I ended up buying a computer,& some more British Commonwealth coins, including a Scots silver 1 Penny from the reign of King Alexander III of Scotland (1249-86).

    mnemtsas2 and coinpictures, very nice....

Jim, yours and mine look like they should be sitting next to one another in a case.....even graded by NGC about the same time.....

How old? This one goes back a couple more centuries.
