Cherrypicker's Guide will be printed very soon!
I hope I don't take away any of Dentuks fire, but this is big news:
The latest Vol. 1 Cherrypicker's Guide should be in your hands very soon! It has been a long time coming and from what I saw (the FE and Indian Cent section) it is a great book to own! With Whitman publishing it there are no longer any reason to expect publishing delays.
Since PCGS uses the Cherrypicker's Guide to determine which FE and Indian cent varieties is attributes, it had enormous impact on those varieties. Of course the new numbering system is incorporated too. That's a good reason to get it.

I didn't think this was due out for a couple years yet.
I hope they've added some of the great clad varieties.

No, you pre-bought it six years ago. You received it four years ago. Okay, last time for that line of thinking, I promise.
So if Volume 1 is only going to cover cents through nickels, does that mean it will take three volumes to cover all the denominations? At this point, maybe Whitman should just come out with guides by denomination and turn "The Cherrypickers' Guide to..." into a series not unlike "The Complete Guide to..."
I'm going to sound like such a curmudgeon saying this, but I still think the Second Edition was the best. The original concept of the CPG was never supposed to be a comprehensive compendium, but an overview of the best, rarest and most valuable varieties. The series started going down hill when the Third edition came out packed with minor RPMs and polished die varieties (no offense to those who collect them), and continued with the oft-delayed Fourth edition which was overstuffed with varieties that had no business being there. The result is that the importance of the major varieties is diluted, sort of like allowing a bunch of marginal players into a Hall of Fame - the bar keeps getting lowered until it's hard to care if anyone crosses over it.

<< <i>Here's one I hope they finally list (DDO-6), especially since I've got this PGCS-66 and another one that's a PCGS-65.
Definitely the strongest but also the most common of the many DDOs for the date. A much better breakdown of the better dies is needed in the CPG.
