So his dad died, he looked through his closest and found a graded SGC card? I think not. On the other hand, if he found the card raw, why would he send it into SGC?
Someone should tell him to crack it and send it to PSA or BVG if he wants to sell it.
Believe it or not there really are some stories like this that can be told....in the last month I am aware of two folks who passed away who had collections. One had stuff from the 30's thru 50's, the other had a lot of Cal Ripken stuff. My stock broker asked me for advice for the person who had the older stuff (another of his clients and my broker knows I dabble in the collectibles). It was way beyond my means so I directed him to all the major auction houses. Not sure what the person did but I'm sure I'll hear from my broker eventually. The other person I told them to inventory the stuff first. I'm waiting to hear from them again to see what they want to do with the stuff. I also told my stock broker to have his friend do an inventory first and then get back to me.....Doesn't happen often legit but it can occur....
I was reading a link somewhere that they banned a handful of card from being sold in "raw" condition because of the high percentage of counterfeits. Cards like the Jordan RC, the Gretzky, 52 Mantle etc etc. Was wondering if there's any truth to this?
Also, in selling any of those high items, eBay really needs to closely track any of those items up for bid and start going after the numbnuts

Why not? That is not a red flag at all.
I'm not saying im loaded with confidence, but it doesnt seem like that risky of an auction considering that its paypal only.

Clear Ebay violation and a good reason to not bid.

Where's Rube?
Yes, but the true stories are never mentioned on EBAY.
I too received cards from a friend whose cousin died.
I did not mention that fact when selling off the collection.
