    they will be back.

    i'm very surprised that some doubt they will be back.

    it seems those are the one's that have the least experience with the USM and the games they play.

    They won't be back this year.

    If they do, it will be in 2009.

    I tend to think they will be back, at least in proof form if nothing else, but not till next year.

    DH, he is talking about the 2008 Plats. Are you saying that you think the 2008s are gone for good? (I don't think they are).

    2009, now that's another story. I'm not sure who actually discontinues a coinage program once it gets started. Congress, I suppose?

    I can't wait to buy up those remaining reverse proof sets for around $1150 per set. image Platinum is at a 3 year low this morning.

    I can now see just how much the Mint gouged us collectors for the '08 plats right before the platinum meltdown,
    but in doing so thay have awarded us with a rare gem with only 120+ individual examples.
    Regardless of what we paid, I'm glad I purchased one on the first day of sales!
    IMO they will not return at the level platinum is sittin'.... image
