About a week ago, this Huggins payroll check closed in a Clean Sweep Auction:
LinkAnd yesterday this one closed on eBay:
LinkAlmost a $2000 difference, and the one on Clean Sweep doesn't have Ed Barrow's signature. The upcoming PayPal only policy looks like it's already doing a lot of damage.

I doubt the "Paypal Only"(which is not 100% accurate) has anything to do with it. I have been Paypal only for over a year now and many other sellers have been the same. Most buyers use Paypal and will not pay any other way.
Buyers will still be able to pay with any payment they chose and the seller agrees to, the seller just cannot communicate it.

I agree I will not buy anything on Ebay over 10 bucks UNLESS it is with Paypal.
The check in the Clean Sweep auction was a nice clean Huggins signature. The one sold on ebay had a big cancellation stamp right across the middle of the signature. Not all Huggins sigs are created equally - there is a big difference in the quality of the two.
I'm not saying that auction houses never use shills - I'm just saying there is a big other factor at work here between these two checks....
Then noticed Scooter beat me to it.
Also despite the nicer signature & the pay grid on that check. The Clean Sweep ran first
and the winning bidder may not have bid on the ebay one since he already had a nice Huggins check.
Perhaps if the eBay one ran first and had that bidder competing, the #'s would be different.
As all you need is 2 interested bidders to drive a price up. If one isn't bidding, the final price is lower.

Ungrateful whiners!
Loves me some shiny!
I do not get it. What is the reference to Obama and bombing the Pentagon?
<< <i>None of your collections would amount to poop without eBay..... >>

There is much merit to that claim.
There is also truth in the notion that absent collectors, EBAY would
never have become the profitable RICO-Enterprise that it is today.
Collectors are abandoning EBAY, in retaliation for EBAY having abandoned
those collectors.
EBAY will not soon vanish, but its PPS hit a new multi-year low this morning.
