Based on her annual income, how long would it take Oprah to buy a gem $4 Stella?

With her annual income of 275 million, Oprah earns about $531 every minute of her life (even when shes sleeping). Based on those numbers, she could buy a gem $4 Stella (about 125k) in just 4 hours time!

Hey, how about we send her a letter suggesting a show on Coin Investments that you can do at Home with Dr. Phil?
As a gift, everybody in the audience gets a historic $1 California Gold Piece!
Then we get everybody on the forums to get tickets for the show!
What do ya think??
The name is LEE!
If I was Oprah, I WOULD BE buying a $4 Stella every 4 hours if I could find them

Of course they are.
I read years ago that she was making $60 million a year, sooooooooo, I do believe she could buy a roll whenever she wanted if a roll were available............Rick

Ok, you are correct. They are in the neighborhood of around $220,000. Now Oprah would have to "save up" for 7 hours rather than just 4. Now it doesnt seem like such a great deal anymore!
Despite their high prices gem Stellas can be found without extreme difficulty and a few dealers always seem to have one or a few available at any given time. Check out Heritage Auction's Platinum Night sales and there is a good chance that at least one is offered for sale.

<< <i>Guys, I was practically tripping over them at the last major show I attended in Schaumberg!!! Well, ok, I saw 4 gem mint Stellas there. They really arent THAT rare of a coin. >>
As far as patterns go, the 1879 is actually quite common. The Red Book listing is the main reason that the price is so high. Same thing for the 1856 Flying Eagle cent.
How much would Oprah earn at her current pay rate if her job was to search through rolls of 2008 Lincolns looking for one without those spots?

Don't forget she already has millions in the bank and still ticking...so based on this ...the answer would be ....in a heartbeat!

Now Mr. Gates buying the stella would be the same investment relative to his net worth as spending $2.50 is relative to yours. So, when you buy a Starbucks mocha whatever, you are spending about twice as much relative to your net worth on the latte as Mr. Gates would be on the stella! Imagine if Mr. Gates decided to get into coins!
