do you like the idea of edge lettering on coins?
............i don't much care for the idea. i like the date, motto on the face of the coin! what are your thoughts?

The lettering is just too darn small!

French gold pieces. Mexican silver.
Lots of examples of nice edge designs.
I hate the edge lettering on Presidential Dollars. It is sloppy, crude and seems to damage the rim too. I suspect that is what you originally meant; the awful edge lettering on the US Golden Dollars.
Having the denomination or motto repeatedon the edge is a nice touch especially on the larger coins.
<< <i>I like lettering on the edges, but I do not like the date and mint mark being moved solely to the edge.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Good one, Nysoto! I like edge lettering or other edge ornamentation.

The US just needs to get better at it.
