How could your 'best' effort be any better??

Brad, I took it too fast. Didn't use any lights and didn't even get all the fluff and dust off of it.
Just a quick shot but thanks for your kind comment.

Damn, coulda fooled me. That's a pretty awesome shot (and coin)!
You really nailed that black-and-white DCAM contrast!
You are being too modest, as usual.
BTW, I do not consider it unethical to edit obvious dust specks out of my pictures with photo editing program. I mean, it's not like I am editing out marks or other features of the coin's surface- just the dust specks. I have a time with them on my scanner sometimes, and rather than rescan a coin and get new dust specks in different places, I just zap out the obvious ones with my photo program.
Like... presto.

I just manually went around and zapped each dust particle (copied a little piece of the adjacent fields and patched 'em over the dust specks). It's not like it was a one-click operation or anything.
But on such a terrific photo as that, it would be a shame to have just a few dust particles as an aggravation, since everything else looks so great.
Some of these more sophisticated photo-editing folk could have done just about anything with the coin, including changing the date or whatever.
That's one cool medal-coin that you've got to report for listing in Krause.
Robertson,
What photo editing program do you use? I've used one downloaded off www.photoscape.org.It is very safe to download,& it only has one cost - FREE!.
Aidan.
I have never tried any of the other features.

You should try the 'Combine' feature, which will create a new photo from both original photos, yet you still retain your original photos in 'My Pictures'.You can even change the contrast to sharpen up the photos as well.Of course, you can resize the photos as well with Photoscape.
Aidan.
Is that program available as a FREE download? Or is it only available on a C.D. that you can get with a flat-bed scanner?
I've got a Canon CanoScan LiDE25 flat-bed scanner that my boss gave to me just after New Year's this year as a belated Christmas present.
