Some time ago, my younger brother told me he was missing the 1886, 1885, and 1912-S V nickels from his collection.
I told him I'd sold my set of V nicks years ago.
Yesterday I got rooting around in my coin junk and found 2 sheets of V nickels. There was a 1886 in the group.
I called my brother and asked if he still needed one. He said yup, so I went visiting. He was a happy camper when I told him he could have it.
Kinda makes up for my beating him up so many times when we were kids.

When I was a kid, my grandmother gave me a group of Liberty Nickels. Her gifts had an affect on my life. For years, I was an enthusiastic collector of Liberty Nickels, as were some of my friends. A set of business strikes is not difficult to complete.

Back in 1970, or so, my grandmother gave me an 1891 Indian Cent and an 1868 Shield Nickel. She had found the nickel years before while digging in her garden. I couldn't take my eyes off of that 1891 cent (the first Indian I ever owned. Indians are probably still my favorite series. I still have both of those coins.
