Smooth Edge Kennedy Half??

I purchased four rolls of Kennedy Halves about a month ago. Searching the rolls, I noticed six examples of a smooth edge coin and they all look similar (almost exactly) to the one pictured. There is no consistency in the dates but they are all D mint marked. I only have these two remaining and hope one of you experts might share what may have caused the smooth edges and surface roughness.
Thanks,
The first two pictures show side by side obverse/reverse of the NORMAL vs roughed up Kennedy

Slot machines...
COMPLETE KENNEDY VARIETY SET, CIRCULATION STRIKES AND PROOFS
1964 MINT SET
I see nothing special here other than a healthy curiosity!
The circular marks near the edges are caused by slot machines and coin rolling machines.
The name is LEE!
Have a great evening.
