Scanning question

What resolution should a scanner be set at to get a scan similar to what can be seen through a 10X loupe?

I set my scanner at 200 dpi and get scans like the one below. The scan seems to bring out flaws that I can not
see through a loupe. I would hate to think that I have sold raw cards that would grade 8 or above because my
scans were too precise.

Thanks, Charles

The white specks on the both sides and the bottom can not be seen through a loupe.

higher pixels per inch = better quality, however,

once you reach a certain level, 300 ppi or so, it really only increases picture size, not overall quality.

    For ebay, I use 200 or 300.

If you are worried that the scans "show too much," you could put a tag
in the listing that notes the DPI used.

"To assure that all details - even those that cannot be seen with a 10X loupe -
are clearly illustrated, we scan our cards at 200 DPI. If you want lower resolution
scans emailed to you, please ask."
