I don't, they tend to be over-priced on well....just about everything!

Once in a while I'll still buy things out of their catalogs, usually things that are rather inexpensive and what may be tricky to find otherwise.

I did for about two months in 1991. Then I caught onto how much they jack up their prices for their "coins on approval"

paying 2x +++ for a coins market fair value is just too much.

I just bought an update page for my Kooks, couldn't find it anywhere else, but I doubt I'll ever buy much else from them.

I used to get 'approvals' from them, back in the '60's

Also got a lot of stamp approvals from various outlets I found in the classifeds of Popular Mechanics.

I vividly remember my mother one day running *running!* out to intercept the mailman....while I watched from the living room window....yelling "NO MORE APPROVALS FOR HIM!!"

She's the same loving mom who steadfastly refused to lend me $80 when I was a teen to buy two Liberty 20$ double eagles at a local yard sale.....image

Not since I was a kid in the 60s.
  • I suspect that many of us at one time or another have purchased from them at one time or another and also have some of the bonus dollars they issued laying around. Maybe someone can collect them all and donate them to some YN on the forum.

I use to get 5 ASE each year for like 1999 through 2004, for like $ 9/coin.
Then in 2005, Littleton told me the offer was for 'New" customers only. They sent my 5 coins because I had already paid, but would not give 5 for a good price the next year(2006).

So I quit trying to get them from them.

I would submit into NGC for grades and they would come back as MS69's.

I once bought ASE's from them when the price of silver was low... I always got great bargains on them using their coupons from the Sundays local newspaper.

Yup, I started collecting when I was 9 after getting some coins from my grandfather, and my parents let me do the Littleton approval service when I was a kid.

Haven't bought from them in years because I know better now. But I can thank them for the beginning of my older circulated collections like IHC's, Buff Nickels, and Liberty Dimes.
