Heritage take's a page out of Sperber's playbook...

I saw this headline in an email this morning from Heritage:

Two excellent firms show that quality customer-service is not related to basic grammar skills.

I don't see the problem. Can someone help me?
I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

Also, are you implying that Heritage has great customer service? I would like it if they told me I won something instead of just shipping when they get around to it.
Hey - maybe you are right and grammar and customer sevice are not related. I have received good customer service at the firm with the Legendary grammar issues. I have received spotty customer service at Heritage, who seems to me to be grammatically correct.

I give up. Perhaps it is that 'Are' shouldn't be capitalized? Maybe the OP thinks it should have been 'Our', though 'are' works too in this case.

I believe the auctions were held during "National Talk Like a Pirate Day" so it should have read: Coin News... $35 Million Long Beach Auctions Arrrr Largest Ever

I was embarrassed to post that I did not see the mistake, either. Maybe we need a Grammar Girl consult.

<< <i>Methinks the Op would have liked to see IS rather than ARE as the vowel in play. I won't dare comment as to which is the more correct as this is a tough bunch! Take's it or leave's it.

I will assume that you meant the verb in play and and the vowel.

I was going to ask a question but decided to just say screw it, by the time I type it with (1) FANGER this whole thing will be over.
Merry Christmas everyone.....
I'm just getting a head start ........still trying to deal with the (1) FANGER thing......

auctions are ..... plural
auction is.......... singular
The OP hasn't related what he thinks is wrong, and all I can see that he might be referring, to is the capitalizing of all the words.
By the way, I dropped out of school a month into 8th grade.

I thought they meant: $35 million Long Beach Auctions our largest ever. My first of two blunders. (2nd was "take's").
Sorry about that Heritage.
