Hard to believe that the team that's first in payroll (Yankees; $207M) will be playing golf this October because they let the team that's next-to-last in payroll ($47M; about 1 1/2 years of A-Rod alone) beat them in the division. I guess we really don't need that salary cap or luxury tax after all.
Good luck to the Rays and their quest at a World Series, though my wife's Red Sox might have something to say about that.

GREAT job by the Rays. Any team that upends the Sox is OK by me. Too bad the Rays won't be able to upend the Sox again in the playoffs as the Angels will wipe their a&& with the Sox retreads.
