My new favorite card Nolan Ryan PSA/DNA

I couldnt help myself, new my favorite auto'd card.
Is it common to let these go ungraded and just get the old fashioned PSA/DNA auto authentication?
Tell me this card isn't trimmed... =D

  • nice card. many don't grade the card unless the grade itself would increase the value. it looks like a psa 5, 6 at best. if it were mine I'd only grade the card if it were at least a 7. for me, when the flip has a psa/dna number and a psa number there's too much info on the flip and it detracts from the auto.

Thanks, I am not worried about the grade, just want to know that it's not a trimmed piece is all I'm worried about.
It's going into my vault of keepers.

I Guarantee this won't be back in circulation =D

Anyone else have a Nolan auto'd card? I'd be interested to see em. I know he is a generous signer! =)

The ballpoint signature is light, but not quite that light on the actual card. There's a story behind this one. I sent it thru-the-mail to him care of the Astros, I think in 87 or 88. I wasn't quite on the Ryan bandwagon yet, so when it came back I socked it away. AND FORGOT ABOUT IT. For 16 years. I moved TWICE in that time, to different states, and still dragged the box it was in with me. A couple years ago, I'm looking through that box and shocked to find that card. The vague memory comes back. And I am ten kinds of shocked, because Nolan Ryan has been my favorite since 1989 when he bopped back to the AL. I sent it to PSA/DNA to get authenticated and encapsulated. It actually got me started on the whole grading thing, as I subsequently set out to compile a complete run of graded Topps / Donruss / Fleer Ryans from his playing years.

    And the second one...

Bought this Dick-Perez postcard from tsalem last October. It's a really impressive piece in person. I kinda wish I had it poster sized.
Nolan Ryan & Edgar Martinez are my favorite players...

  • That Perez-Steele card is one of the sweetest modern auto cards I have ever seen. Love the coloring and how the auto sticks out because it was signed on a white part of the card.

One of my favorite all time Ryan cards, that one and the 1980 Topps. I have that same DK autographed too. A family member living in Corpus took my card and got it signed for me in 1988

    Thanks for sharing fellas!

I'm proud to say I own a Nolan Ryan Auto and not a Johnny Bench auto.

    Long live the strikeout king!
