This new 35 cent ebay listing fee has HUGE final value fees. 2 -1/2 % higher to 4% higher

I just assumed the final value fees would be the same as for auctions but they are far higher.

For the auctions:

$0.01 - $25.00** 8.75% of the closing value

$25.01- $1,000.00 8.75% of the initial $25.00 ($2.19), plus 3.50% of the remaining closing value balance($25.01 - $1,000.00)

Equal to or Over $1000.01 8.75% of the initial $25.00 ($2.19), plus 3.50% of the initial $25.01 - $1,000.00 ($34.12), plus 1.50% of the remaining closing value balance($1000.01 - closing value)

For the fixed fees:-------------

$0.01 - $50.00 12.00% of the closing value

$50.01 - $1,000.00 12.00% of the initial $50.00, plus 6.00% of the remaining closing value balance ($50.01-$1,000.00)

Equal to or Over $1,000.01 12.00% of the initial $50.00, plus 6.00% of the initial $50.01-$1,000.00, plus 2% of the remaining closing value balance ($1,000.01 - closing value)

Yes they are much higher for fixed price auctions.

I noticed all your auctions are fixed price auctions.

I believe if you start an auction differently it would qualify as an auction and still be a fixed price.

For instance, start an auction at $695.00 and BIN for $700.00 would qualify as an auction with the lower FVF's.

Yes, you pay higher listing fees but it is worth it. The real question is how does sending coins to a Teletrade now compare to ebay?

With the higher auction listing fees it is almost the same costs up to a $200 price, then the auctions become cheaper.

    $50 would be $4.29 vs, 6.35
$200 auction with bin would be $9.69 vs $15.10 with fixed price.

edited to correct fixed price costs, I used wrong category FVF's

I have never used Teletrade or Heritage.
Maybe someone can give a price to sell at these auctions.

Low listing fees + high FVFs = lots of junk listed at ridiculous asking prices.
  • Ha, ha, ha!!! I knew back a month or so ago when ebay touted their .35 cent fees that there was going to be a big catch and sure enough it is. They bragged with press releases that they are here to help the seller, like always they are doing everything for our own good and not theirs. What it all boils down to is that this .35 bs listing fee is a way to deflect attention away from them raising fees overall.

I am surprised that the greedy crooks at Ebay have not adjusted this $ discrepancy UP for auctions to make Ebay a better, fairer, nicer place to sell.

  • Anything Ebay says treat it as if a politician is talking about taxes. If they say they are lowering your tax rate in some way they are actually raising it in another way to get more out of you.

    Good luck, Alan!

I was looking at the total fees on some auctions I had run and were purchased with a BIN. Seems they charged the auction listing rate and the FVF for a BIN. A total of 20%+.
