Return of the half dime?

Someone just pointed this article out to me. A bill has been introduced in Congress to revert the 5-cent coin to the size of the half dime, at a manufacturing cost of 2c per coin rather than the current 10c. Makes fiscal sense, so I assume it will never happen.

  • This will never fly. We'd have 2 coins smaller in diameter than the Penny and the Blind/Visually Impaired would scream bloody murder.

Correct, it will never happen; the half dime is/was too small.
